Nursing Standard & Mental Health Practice: interview with Swansea Bay & Performing Medicine

RCNi’s most widely read nursing journal, Nursing Standard, published an article on Performing Medicine’s work with Swansea Bay University Health Board.

The article includes interviews with key members of the project team at SBUHB including Andrea Bradley, Marie Williams, Sharon Pontin, and Prue Thimbleby; all of whom speak from their own perspectives looking at how the initiative has brought benefits to their team.  A closer insight into Performing Medicine’s workshops and how they work in practice for NHS staff is shared with readers.

Tips for healthcare staff on how to use performing arts techniques to improve their practice are offered by Performing Medicine’s Dr Suzy Willson, who also explains why self-care is crucial for staff working in such a demanding profession.

The article concludes by encouraging the healthcare workforce to tap into Performing Medicine’s Coping with PPE resource, and shares our top tips when wearing PPE.

Read it in full at Nursing Standard or Mental Health Practice.
