Curious about how arts-based approaches can support the healthcare workforce and the next generation of doctors and nurses, and their patients? Are you considering ways to develop your own practice? If so, this opportunity offered by Performing Medicine is for you!

For over two decades Clod Ensemble’s award winning Performing Medicine programme has been pioneering arts-based learning within hospitals, medical schools and healthcare settings across the UK and internationally. We create supportive and transformative environments where people can develop skills to provide respectful, compassionate, care – improving the health and wellbeing of our communities.

Join Suzy Willson, Director, and Carly Annable-Coop, Lead Artist & Programme Manager, as they unlock skills and methodologies at the core of practice in this exciting arena.

In this inspirational course, you will: 

  • hear and experience some of the guiding principles and features of Performing Medicine’s work 
  • explore our application of arts-based approaches within the context of healthcare settings, medical education and priorities within community health
  • learn about the artistic roots of our work, our research methodologies, processes and practice
  • engage with the themes and approaches that we use across programme design and delivery
  • examine the benefits and impact of arts-based approaches to students, health professionals, patients and communities
  • use the opportunity to reflect on ways to develop and enhance your own practice 

This course will appeal to a range of people interested in the intersection of arts and health keen to develop their working practices. Artists, medical educationalists, members of the healthcare workforce and others will learn alongside one another.
