11.02.21 - 25.02.21
Online
This online modular course supports GPs to gain a broad overview of how arts and culture can play a key role in healthcare and social prescribing.
Over three short modules, the course will focus on self-care and wellbeing for GPs themselves, as well as multi-disciplinary verbal and non-verbal communication with the broader social prescribing team and ways of identifying patients that may benefit from referral. Participants will explore the arts and health sector, review case studies, be introduced to the work of arts organisations in the area, and consider ways of identifying clients who could benefit from involvement in cultural activities.
In the final module GPs, link workers, social prescribers and arts organisations will come together to explore how to create a healthy, creative community.
The content of this course has been informed by a series of conversations with link workers, GPs and arts organisations in Southwark and Merton.
This course is free to attend but there are limited places. The modules build on each other as a full course. On completing the course you will receive a certificate.
This course is part of a wider workforce development programme providing support and training for link workers, social prescribers, GPs and arts organisations about the potential of arts and culture in social prescribing.
